Sarasota offers
an interesting diversity of neighborhoods for every lifestyle
and price range, from downtown high-rise condominiums
overlooking the Bay, to historic neighborhoods sprinkled with
cottages and bungalows to sprawling country club estates.
The barrier
islands each have their own unique character as well, from
opulent Longboat Key with its manicured fairways, to laid-back
Siesta Key with its tropical island feel.
An eclectic mix
of architecture includes Spanish Mediterranean, Old Florida
and contemporary designs, as well as examples of the
minimalist Sarasota School of Architecture. Most Sarasota
neighborhoods are within 15 minutes of the water.
THE KEYS
Some of the
area’s most distinctive properties are located on the barrier
islands. In Sarasota County, the three distinct “islands”
accessible by bridge are Casey Key, Siesta Key and Longboat
Key.
Bird Key.
Located
just west of downtown Sarasota and the John Ringling Bridge,
Bird Key is an exclusive gated enclave comprised of some 500

Siesta Key.

St. Armands.
World-renowned for its shopping and dining, St. Armands is a

Casey Key.
Casey Key
is a narrow, eight-mile-long strip of land where nearly every

MAINLAND
Many of Sarasota's mainland communities have been revitalized

Cherokee Park.
